The Parks and Recreation Manager is responsible for managing, directing, planning, developing and evaluating one or more of the department’s major program areas including park services, recreation, venue rentals and special events. One of the classifications that this position supervises is the Parks Division Supervisor. The Parks Division Supervisor is represented by AFSCME Council 57, Local 146-AFL-CIO, and the current salary range is $75,003-$103,393 per year. The current salary range for the Parks and Recreation Manager is only $72,895-$100,487 per year which has created a compaction issue with the subordinate Parks Division Supervisor classification. It is recommended that the Parks and Recreation Manager classification be moved from Salary Range 7 to Salary Range 12 to alleviate the compaction issue.
Following the City Council's performance evaluation of the City Attorney on January 14, 2020, Council directed an amendment to the City Attorney Employment Agreement to increase the City Attorney by 3.5% to $209,029. Subject to Council approval of the previous agenda item, the proposed Resolution will also update the Management Salary Schedule to reflect the approved City Attorney salary increase.
