Subject: | Amendment to the City Attorney Employment Agreement to Increase the City Attorney's Salary |
| Date: | January 28, 2020 |
| Submitted By: | Mayor Greg Janda |
| Department: | City Council |
| | | | | | | | Staff Recommendation: | Adopt a resolution of the City Council of the City of Rocklin approving an amendment to the City Attorney Employment Agreement with Sheri Chapman to increase the City Attorney’s base annual salary by three and one-half percent, for a total annual base salary of $209,029. |
| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND: | On September 11, 2018, the City Council approved a City Attorney Employment Agreement with Sheri Chapman (Resolution 2018-242). The agreement does not provide for any automatic salary increases. Instead, salary increases must be approved by the City Council. Following a favorable performance evaluation of the City Attorney on January 14, 2020, the City Council provided direction to move forward with a 3.5% percent increase to the City Attorney’s annual salary. If the salary adjustment is approved, it is necessary to also approve a revised Management Salary Schedule, reflecting the change in the City Attorney’s salary. |
| | | | | | | | Fiscal Impact: | The adjustment to the City Attorney’s salary requires an amendment to the Management Salary Schedule, which is addressed in a subsequent agenda item presented today for consideration.
