| | | | | | | | | BACKGROUND: | On February 26, 2019, the City Council approved Reso. 2019-42 with Capra Environmental Services (Capra) and Reso. 2019-43 with Legacy Ranching Land Management (Legacy) both to provide grazing services in City of Rocklin owned open space areas. These contracts were for the 2019 season with the option to renew in writing an additional four years. In October of 2019 the City advised Capra that their contract would not be renewed.
Staff contacted Legacy to determine if they would be able to accommodate the additional acreage while meeting established timelines and what the additional costs would be. Legacy indicated that they would be able to accommodate the additional 279.39 acres for an additional cost of $91,836.50 which is in keeping with their existing cost per acre. This would bring the total up from 452 acres to 731.39 acres and the cost up from $166,850.00 to $258,686.50 with the term of the contract remaining the same. Legacy has performed well during the 2019 season and staff is very satisfied with their responsiveness and timeliness.
