Staff Recommendation:

Adopt a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Rocklin Approving the List of Projects Proposed to be Funded with SB 1 Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Funds for Fiscal Year 2020-2021.
BACKGROUND:

Senate Bill 1 (SB 1) was established during FY 17-18 and provides funds to Cities/Counties for eligible basic road maintenance, rehabilitation, and critical safety projects on roadway systems within their jurisdiction. Prior to receiving the apportionment of Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account (RMRA) funds from the State Controller, the City must submit a detailed list of proposed eligible projects to the California Transportation Commission (CTC) along with a City Council Resolution approving them.

 

The CTC estimates that the City of Rocklin will receive approximately $1,190,158 in FY 2020-2021. Both the City Council Resolution and the project list are due to the CTC annually July 15, 2020, with project expenditure reports due annually on December 1st.  These projects will also be included in the 2021-2025 Capital Improvement Plan.

Fiscal Impact:
The CTC has projected that the City of Rocklin will receive $1,190,158 in FY 2020-2021 to be used toward eligible projects.
