Staff Recommendation:

Adopt a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Rocklin Accepting the Public Work Known as the 2019 Road Resurfacing – High Density Mineral Bond Project, Approving the Notice of Completion Thereof, and Authorizing and Directing the Execution and Recordation of Said Notice on Behalf of the City (Holbrook Asphalt, LLC).


BACKGROUND:

On October 8, 2019, Resolution 2019-237, the 2019 Road Resurfacing – High Density Mineral Bond Project, was approved by the City Council and included in the both the 2020-2025 CIP and FY 2019-2020 budget. This project consisted of road resurfacing using  High Density Mineral Bond on various streets in the City (Exhibit A). Following a competitive bidding process, the contract was awarded to Holbrook Asphalt, LLC in the amount of $189,087, and the City Manager was given change order authority of 15% of the contract, $28,363, for a total authorized expenditure of  $217,450. One balancing change order was issued that reduced the project cost from $189,047 to $184,087.  This project was completed on June 15, 2020.

Fiscal Impact:

This project came in under budget and is funded using Streets, Maintenance Reserve Funds (120) dollars. The amounts noted in this request are included in the budget plus any additional appropriations as approved by Council.
