Purchase of Two Chevrolet 3500's Trucks from Winner Chevrolet Inc.

On June 23, 2020, the City Council approved and adopted the 2021-2025 Capital Improvement Plan which includes capital fleet replacement of two one ton pickup trucks (Units 4405 & 9204)  with two Chevrolet Silverado 3500 trucks. Staff has determined that the vehicles to be purchased are part of the State contract #1-18-23-20D (Attachment "A").

The state's program provides local government agencies access to competitively bid and publicly solicited contracts from vendors who supply goods and services.  Contracts are created through a competitive bid process that allows members to “piggyback” on the competitive bid contract.  This eliminates the need to complete the individual RFP/Bid process allowing the City to move quickly to secure services/equipment.

Pursuant to the state contract, Winner Chevrolet Inc. has issued a quote for the Chevrolet Silverado 3500 trucks at $36,248.127 each (Attachment "B"). Staff requests authority to purchase two Chevrolet Silverado 3500 trucks from Winner Chevrolet in an amount not to exceed $72,496.24, pursuant to California Contract No. 1-18-23-20D. The total purchase amount is $72,496.24 and comes in under budget.

Fiscal Impact:  No fiscal impact has been identified as the amounts noted in this request are included in the original budget approved by Council.  Accounts are noted in the table below to demonstrate available funding.
