The Striping and Marking Maintenance Services Project removes and replaces degraded striping and markings on various roads within the City. This is part of the general repair necessary to the upkeep of the City’s roadways in the coming years. The Striping and Marking Maintenance Services Project Bid provides a competitive price for striping and marking services that will be used on multiple projects that are a part of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2021/22 Budget and the 2022-2026 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) adopted by the City Council on June 22, 2021.
The invitation for bids on the Striping and Marking Maintenance Services Project was advertised on May 28, 2021, and June 4, 2021, with the bid opening on June 16, 2021. The bid package consisted of a bid schedule that provided the costs on a per item/task basis with a quantity identified for bidding purposes. The bid item/tasks costs can be used on various budgeted maintenance and projects in a given year. While the bid amounts established the cost for various items with a total amount for bidding purposes, the actual amount for striping and marking maintenance services and applicable approved CIP projects would not exceed the amount of $200,000 for the first year of the agreement.
One (1) bid was received from Sierra Traffic Markings, Inc. (Roseville) in amount of $174,860 (Exhibit B). Staff has reviewed the bid for sufficiency and recommends that the City Council approve and award the bid to Sierra Traffic Markings, Inc.
This is an annual contract awarded for an initial eleven (11) month period and may be renewed on a year-to-year basis for two additional one-year terms.
