The City of Rocklin Annual Dig Outs Project removes and replaces degraded asphalt on various roads within the City roadways, and is part of the general repairs necessary to preserve the roadways and prevent major road rehabilitation in the coming years. The Annual Dig Outs Project Bid provides a competitive price for dig outs and can be used on multiple projects that are a part of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2021/22 Budget and the 2022-2026 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), both adopted by the City Council on June 22, 2021.
The bid package consisted of a bid schedule that provided the unit costs on a per item/task basis with a quantity identified for bidding purposes. The bid item/tasks costs can be used on various budgeted maintenance and CIP projects in a given year.
The invitation for bids on the City of Rocklin Annual Dig Outs Project was advertised on May 28, 2021, and June 4, 2021, with the bid opening on June 17, 2021. Four (4) bids were received, as listed below, with Central Valley Engineering & Asphalt, Inc. submitting the lowest bid in the Amount of $828,575.

This is an annual contract awarded for an initial Eleven (11) month period and may be renewed by the City on a year-to-year basis for two additional one-year terms. Should the City renew the term, the City will provide the Contractor the not to exceed amount, which can increase by up to 3.0%.
Staff has reviewed the lowest bid for sufficiency and recommends the City Council approve and award the bid to Central Valley Engineering and Asphalt, Inc.
