Staff Recommendation:

Adopt a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Rocklin Accepting the Public Work Known as the Granite Drive Micro-Pave Resurfacing Project, Approving the Notice of Completion for  the Project, and Authorizing the Execution and Recordation of the Notice on Behalf of the City (American Pavement Systems, Inc.).


BACKGROUND:

On May 11, 2021, Resolution 2021-76, the Granite Drive Micro-Pave Resurfacing Project was approved by the City Council and included as part of the Annual Road Resurfacing Project in both the 2021-2025 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) and Fiscal Year (FY) 2020/21 budget. This project consisted of micro-paving the road surface and road striping reconfiguration on Granite Drive from Rocklin Road to Sierra College Blvd., Christopher Court, and the portion of Springview Drive in front of Antelope Creek Elementary School.

 

Following a competitive bidding process, the contract for the Project was awarded to American Pavement Systems, Inc. in the amount of $313,655 (rounded). The Rocklin Municipal Code section 3.04.050 authorizes a contingency amount of fifteen percent of the contract, $47,048 (rounded), for a total authorized Project amount of $360,703 (rounded). One balancing change order was issued in the amount of $4,778 (rounded) for a total project cost of $318,433 (rounded). This project was completed on June 12, 2021.

Fiscal Impact:
This project was funded using SB325 Funds (210). The amounts noted in this request were included in the budget and no additional appropriation is necessary.
