Staff Recommendation:

Adopt a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Rocklin Accepting the Public Work known as the Sierra College Boulevard HMA Overlay Project, Approving the Notice of Completion Thereof, and Authorizing and Directing the Execution and Recordation of Said Notice on Behalf of the City (George Reed, Inc.)

BACKGROUND:

On September 28, 2021, the award of a construction contract for the Sierra College HMA Overlay Project, was approved by the City Council (Resolution No. 2021-167). The project is included in both the 2022-2026 Capital Improvement Plan and Fiscal Year 2021/22 Operating Budget. This project consisted of paving (overlay) the roadway on Sierra College Boulevard from Del Mar Avenue to the Placer County Line.

 

The City Council awarded the contract for the Sierra College Boulevard HMA Overlay Project to George Reed, Inc., in the amount of $501,586 (rounded) with a 15% contingency bringing the project amount to $576,824 (rounded). Two budget appropriations were approved by the City Council for a total of $58,022, bringing the authorized budget for this project in at $634,846.

 

Six (6) change orders were issued for the amount of $129,386.61 bringing the total project cost to $630,972.61 ($630,973 rounded).
